Gridy consists of two product designers, Lars Olav Dybdal and Wilhelm Grieg Teisner. This young and aspiring team from Oslo, Norway is specialized within the working fields of furniture, product and spatial design. Both designers have a bachelor’s degree from the Bergen Academy of Arts and Design. Lars Olav has a master’s degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and Wilhelm has a master’s degree from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. Gridy has exhibited their works in several leading young designers’ showcases around Europe. In 2012 they won the Stelton/Dupont Corian Competition 2012 with their Trix candlestick concept. During the 100% Design fair in London in 2011, the lamp Spiff prototype was selected as one of six “must see lamps” chosen for the Lighting Trail. The design firm Gridy strives to create simple and functional design solutions with a strong sense of personality and the designers strive to combine a rational approach with a dash of humour. The name Gridy is a combination of their two surnames – Grieg and Dybdal.
